    • The Hybrid part is good; The Kia part is terrible

We’ve owned our Sportage HEV for 2 years. In that two years, we’ve had the car at the dealership several times for things that fall under warranty….but what fun is it to have the following replaced on a garage-kept, hand washed, meticulously maintained car: door handle replacement, headlight replacement, rear hatch lock replacement. Now that the car has 30K miles, it’s time for another headlight replacement, another door handle replacement and the turbo is malfunctioning. The dealership assures us that everything is fine but I will not be purchasing another Kia. We love the hybrid feature. We do not enjoy the lackluster sound system and terrible build quality. Eight trips to the shop to have things fixed in the first 2 years isn’t my idea of a good vehicle.
    • Don’t buy.

I thought this was a great car for the first year but have had multiple problems now with it. It has broken down while driving and now won’t start. The check engine light pops on and the car shuts down when anything it cause the check engine light to come on. Very disappointed with this purchase.
    • Too much tech, too many difficulties

My first month of having the car my battery died and because the car has the automatic shut off, when my car shut off it wouldn’t restart when I went to press the gas. So my brand new car had to be towed out of the car pick up like at school. Second issue- have had the cylinder 2 misfire engine light is on. Now when I have low gas, my car doesn’t even want to start!! I tried taking it to Kia but they wants to keep the car for weeks to fix it. There is no pick up in this car. Struggles to accelerate. And frankly all the technology doesn’t work together. DO NOT BUY THIS CAR! Buy a Toyota
